Problem
“Everyone should have the opportunity for lifelong learning through the arts, from childhood through old age.”
- Arts and Older Americans
Although the population over 65 years old in the US is proliferating year by year, there are not many arts organizations that provide a platform for them to learn and create art.
We need to hear more artistic voices from older adults.
How might we provide an art learning and sharing platform specifically for the senior community and allow them to participate without space and time constraints?
SilverShine is a non-profit interactive art platform that allows older adults to learn art and skills, develop their interests and share their work with other seniors.

My font is Azeret Mono, which is great for reading and has a sense of retro. I chose saturated colors like red, yellow, and turquoise blue. Because as older adults age, the eyes harden and turn yellow. Colors appear grayer to them. They are more likely to recognize saturated colors.
“Seniors can also be shiny and become part of our art and creative community.
Let’s see what they got!”
